Home Security

Home security is one of the biggest reasons that most people upgrade to a SMART home.  We all want to feel secure in our own home.  So do home security systems make you safer or is it something that is just really cool.  You also need to consider how secure these devices are.  There are lots of articles written about the Internet of Things and whether it is vulnerable to hackers.  You need a system that is encrypted that is safe from hackers that will also keep your home safe from intruders.

Home Maintenance

There are a lot of areas of your home that can be maintained using smart technologies, cleaning is one example.  You can program a robot vacuum to clean your floors while you are at work or sleeping.  You can program your thermostat via your smart phone and smoke alarms and CO2 detectors can let you know if there is trouble.

Access to Your Home from Anywhere

We have all left the house and wondered if we forgot to turn off the oven or set your alarm.  All of that can be accessed by your smartphone when you convert to a smart home.  Depending on how much of your home is connected you can do virtually anything from an app on your phone.  You can unlock your doors so visitors can get in, turn your stove on or off, set the temperature or even look into your fridge to see what you need to pick up on the way home.

Voice Activated Technology

Voice activated commands for your home are the epitome of convenient, imagine just have to tell your house to turn on the lights, or raise the temperature.  While to some that may seem rather lazy that’s not really true.  If you are in the middle of cooking dinner isn’t easier to tell your house to turn up the temperature rather than stop what you’re doing to go and do it yourself.

Automation is here to stay it is up to us whether we want to embrace in our homes or not.
